Residential Housing Association (RHA)

The Residential Housing Association will provide residents with a voice to the University and the public. RHA will enhance the educational, social, recreational, and cultural aspects of residence life, and also provide leadership experience to residents living in the halls and apartments.

RHA is also a member of the Intermountain Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (IACURH) as well as the National Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH), the largest student run organization in the world. We attend regional conferences where we get to interact and learn from fellow RHA and NRHH members from other campuses in our region and nation, so keep an eye out in the fall for our delegate applications. We’re looking for awesome residents to represent our awesome community!

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) are affiliated with the National Association of College and University Residence Hall Incorporated (NACURH). NACURH is an international organization that is made up of schools from the United States, Canada, Australia, South Africa, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates. NACURH  brings together students who live in residence halls on college campuses to share ideas, resources, and best practices in order to improve their residential communities. We participate in NACURH through writing OTMs, writing award bids for school recognition, attending the NACURH annual conference every year in June, and working on committees to develop NACURH as an organization.

The IACURH region is made up of schools from Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Saskatchewan, Alberta, South Africa, and the Northwest Territories.  IACURH's mascot is the monkey (his name is Funk E. Monkey). We participate in IACURH through writing OTMs, writing award bids for regional school recognition, attending the IACURH Regional Conference in the Fall and the IACURH No Frills Business Conference in the spring, and working on committees to develop IACURH as a organization. IACURH is all about spirit, recognition, learning, and student leadership development.

Each hall has its own community senate that operates with its own budget and serves to host residential events, as well as to be a forum for residents in the halls and apartments. In addition, RHA offers an Advocacy Committee that will meet in Spring 2019 every Thursday night after each General Assembly meeting in the RHA Office located in the lower level of Washakie.

RHA hosts meetings where representatives from each Community Senate discuss their upcoming events, legislation, funding requests, and other items that pertains to all residence hall and apartment residents. General Assembly meetings are held weekly on Wednesdays at 6:30pm in the Shoshone Room of the Lower Level of Washakie Dining Center. For more information on any of these committees, please feel free to email or drop-by the office.

The Residential Housing Association's constitution, agendas, legislation, upcoming events, and photos are accessible on-line through UW Connect.
