CONGRATULATIONS LTST 2020 GRADUATES!

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Latina/o Studies was not able to honor our graduates in our usual in-person ceremony, so we are doing so virtually here. We have enjoyed having Ms. Gutierrez Gaytan as part of our program and we wish her all the very best in her future endeavors.

Bachelor of Arts: Social Work and Spanish

Minor: Latina/o Studies

My mother migrated our family to the United States 19 years ago with the American Dream in mind. I grew up in Loveland, Colorado and found my passion for social work in high school through a wonderful program of Restorative Justice.

Acknowledgements:

I stand here in representation of the Gaytan Family, for all D.A.C.A students and for immigrants who cannot get a degree because of bigger challenges. My diploma isn’t only mine but my family's, my community's, and above all my mom’s. Thank you for the never-ending support of my family and people along the way through this journey!
SI SE PUEDE!

Future Plans:

After graduation I plan to work for a year, and then I plan to pursue a Masters in Social Work at Colorado State University in the year 2021, and in the meantime work for a year to save for the following year!
