Biomaterials science includes the study and development of materials that interact with biological systems.  Biomaterials science crosses many disciplines, such as molecular biology, biology, chemistry, physiology, medicine, and engineering.  Applications of biomaterials include tissue generation, biopolymers, implants, drug delivery systems, and synthetic proteins.
