 Welcome
The Wyoming State Master Gardener program has a rich legacy of service to the citizens of our state. The Master Gardener Program originated in Washington State in the early 1970s. Since inception, the program has grown to include thousands of volunteers in every state of the nation. There are even programs in Canada, making the organization international.
The Master Gardener program trains citizens in basic horticulture, entomology, soil science, botany, plant pathology, and pesticide safety. In exchange for their training, participants give back volunteer hours to their community. Volunteer activities are focused around community education.
Individuals interested in becoming a Wyoming State Master Gardener begin their journey by signing up for a training program in their county. The University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Educator is in charge of leading the training sessions, with support from state and local specialist. At present, not every county in the state has an active Master Gardener program. Please see the list below to determine if your county offers Master Gardener training. If you have general program questions, you may contact the Master Gardener State Coordinator at 307 766-3103.
