Mission Statement

UW Opera Theatre is dedicated to providing a meaningful and imaginative theatrical and musical experience for all singers at the University of Wyoming.  Majors in any discipline who demonstrate vocal beauty, dramatic skills and overwhelming enthusiasm are encouraged to participate.  Its long-term goal is to make a significant artistic contribution to the University community, and to enhance the cultural vitality of the state.

Opera Theatre's primary aim is to train students to blend the complex arts of movement and singing into a meaningful and communicative artistic "moment."  We strive to instill a respect and dedication for all music theatre forms, and to inspire a strong sense of the artist's role in society.
