Elena Berlinsky grew up in Moscow, Russia, where she received her
Bachelor of Music degree from the Ippolitov-Ivanov Musical College in piano
performance and piano pedagogy. She received her Master's degree in Piano
pedagogy and Music Education from the Moscow Music Pedagogy Institute in
1973. She taught piano at a Music School for Children and Adults in the Central
District of Moscow where she also served as a chairperson of the piano
department from 1980-1988. In 1989 Ms. Berlinsky moved to the United States and
since 1993 she has been a resident of Laramie. She has been an adjunct faculty
member in the Department of Music at the University of Wyoming since September
1993 and also maintains a private piano studio.
