The National Association for Music Education is dedicated exclusively to the advancement of music education. MENC works to promote the value of music education, foster music education programs in schools, advance music education as a profession
As a future teacher, you will have opportunity to develop leadership skills, interact and network with professional music educators from all over the world, be familiar with the latest advancements in music education, enhance credentials on your resume, open doors to job opportunities. Kappa Kappa Psi
Kappa Kappa Psi is a national honorary band fraternity dedicated to service and brotherhood within university bands. The Alpha Nu chapter originally chartered in 1935 has provided leadership and support for all of the University of Wyoming Bands and our outstanding music department. Kappa Kappa Psi provides support for the annual Band Banquet, facilitation of Western Thunder Marching Band Activities, ushering concert events, fund-raising, Festival of Winds, Band Day, and Summer Music Camp. Pi Kappa Lambda
Pi Kappa Lambda is an national honorary society for students majoring in music. Election of PKL is based on grade point average and recommendation from the faculty. The top 10% (by GPA) of Juniors, and the top 20% of Seniors are eligible by faculty nomination. Membership in Pi Kappa Lambda is a respected accomplishment among musicians.
