Auditions & Scholarships

Vocal Scholarship Information

Support is available for Vocal Arts students through ample scholarship opportunities. Priority for vocal scholarships is given to students who declare a music major. Exceptions are given to non-majors who display exceptional talent or if there is an ensemble need. Scholarship awards may be up to full tuition and lesson fees.

Scholarship recipients are expected to perform in two designated music department ensembles every semester, and must enroll in private vocal instruction.

Audition Requirements

For your audition, you must perform two pieces from memory; both may be in English. Please choose a repertoire that displays your current abilities. Sight singing, ear training, rhythm, and musicianship skills will also be assessed at the conclusion of the audition.

An accompanist will be provided for the audition. Once an audition date and time have been assigned, you will be contacted regarding a rehearsal time with your accompanist.

In lieu of a live audition, a high-quality CD, DVD or a secure, web-based recording may be submitted for consideration (video is preferred).
