Macromolecular Analysis Core
To understand the diversity of life...Welcome to The MAC (the Really Big Molecule Facility)! The Macromolecular Analysis Core (MAC) is the new Core Facility at the University of Wyoming formed from the combined Nucleic Acid Exploration Facility (NAEF) and Macromolecular Core Equipment Facility (MCEF).
The MAC is a shared resource
core lab for analysis of biomolecules including nucleic acid sequencing
and genotyping, peptide mapping experiments, protein intact mass
analysis, amino acid analysis and metabolite identification. The MAC is
also a centralized training/preparation facility where anyone
interested in using biomolecular technology for research can prepare
samples and receive training in relevant techniques.
Services include nucleic acid sequencing and genotyping on a Life Technologies (AB) 3130xl Genetic Analyzer, amino acid analysis on the Waters Acquity UPLC system and protein mass analysis on the Xevo G2 Tof LC-MS. Please see our Price List for the complete list of services and equipment available at the MAC.
Same day service for most DNA sequencing and genotyping samples. Help is available for troubleshooting. We're right here on campus so you'll have no shipping charges and a quick turnaround to keep your research moving forward!

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please contact David Perry or Terry McClean.
MAC Status
