University of Wyoming-Postdoctoral Research Associate -Neurophysiology
A full-time postdoctoral position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Qian-Quan Sun at the University of Wyoming.  The research involves the neurophysiological study of neural mechanisms underlying hyper-excitability and epileptogenesis in models of developmental brain disorders (DBD).  A combination of cutting edge-neurophysiological approaches, such as multi-electrode array, in vivo and in vitro patch clamp recordings, and imaging method will be used in this project. The goal is to identify disease specific circuit and cellular mechanisms leading to hyper-excitabilty in different mouse model of DBD.  For more information about Dr. Sun’s lab, please visit the lab website: http://www.uwyo.edu/neuron/sunlab.htm.
Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in Neuroscience and experience with electrophysiological and neurophysiological investigation is required. Prior experience in animal handling and surgery, single unit recordings in vivo is highly desirable.  The funds for this position is available for one year and possibly extended for five years.  The position is eligible for benefits defined by University of Wyoming standard HR policies.
Applicants must submit electronically a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and names of two references to Dr.  Sun, neuron@uwyo.edu.  Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
