In the Flynn lab, I am studying the role of membrane-bound GPCR-NK3R in altering chromatin structure if the brain. In response to acute hyperosmolarity, membrane-bound NK3R are activated and internalized to the cytoplasm and eventually translocated to the nucleoplasm. Once nuclear NK3R modifies chromatin via post translational modification such as acetylation and ultimately changes the gene transcription. We are interested in identifying the protein partners of NK3R that helps modify - acetylate chromatin and the changes in transcription of genes in response to hyperosmolarity.
