Admission to the Graduate Neuroscience Program is a two step process. In order to facilitate your application process, we have a two step admissions process. The first step in this process is carried out by the Neuroscience Program admissions committee. This step does not require any fee but does require that all requested materials be submitted as described below.
Step 1 – Applications are reviewed initially by the Neuroscience Admissions committee. We request that the following material be sent electronically:
1. resume, personal statement,
2. 3 recommendation letters
3. Personal statement. In your personal statement, please describe general areas of interest and any specific research topics or techniques with which you have experience. We use this information to link up perspective students with faculty advisors. Often, students are admitted to work with specific Neuroscience faculty or in particular areas, and the personal statement is helpful in this regard. Students should read through the faculty research interests of the faculty to get a feel for our expertise and the training opportunities that are available through the Neuroscience Program. We strongly encourage applicants to contact the Neuroscience faculty for more information regarding their research programs, or the Director for general research issues. If your interests are still broad at this point in time, indicate your general interests and graduate training goals in your statement.
4. Complete the Application for Neuroscience Assistantship form.
Electronic material should be sent to the Program Director, Dr. Francis Flynn:
flynn@uwyo.edu
We request that Official hard copies of the following material be sent.
1. GRE scores should be sent directly from the testing company at the same time that other aspects of the application are being completed. The institution code is 4855, and department code is 0213.
2. International students. TOEFL scores are required by Neuroscience Program and the Graduate School for admission. The official TOEFL scores should be sent directly from the testing company.
3. Official transcripts from all post-secondary Institutions that the student has attended. These should be sent directly from the educational institutions themselves. Photocopies of transcripts or transcripts sent directly by the applicant WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED and will unfortunately delay your admissions process.
This material should be sent to:
