UW Names Finalists for Outstanding Student Awards

April 13, 2006 -- Finalists have been named for the University of Wyoming's top student awards, the Rosemarie Martha Spitaleri and the Tobin Memorial awards for the outstanding graduating seniors at UW.

Tobin and Spitaleri finalists are honored each year as exceptional role models for undergraduate scholarship and achievement. Deans, department heads, faculty members, staff and recognized student organizations nominated students on the basis of contributions to UW, active participation in extracurricular activities, academic success and citizenship.

The winners will be announced at a luncheon scheduled for Friday, April 28, hosted by Interim Vice President for Student Affairs Sara Axelson. UW President Tom Buchanan will present the awards, and finalists will be introduced that evening during the annual Torchlight Laurels ceremonies.

Finalists for the Rosemarie Martha Spitaleri Award for outstanding graduating woman are:

Casper -- Angela M. Granum.
Cheyenne -- Sarah E. Wolff.
Evansville -- Desiree M. Henriksen.
Gillette -- Lindsey E. Lorello.
Laramie -- Kim Y. Nicholas.
Sundance -- Megan Diane Schnorenberg.

Finalists for the Tobin Memorial Award for outstanding graduating man are:

Cheyenne -- James Young Hamilton.
Green River -- Trevor J. Castillon.
Noblesville, Ind. -- Jonathan William Hughes and Erich William Kirsch.
Rock Springs -- Andrew Jean Kuhlmann.
Sheridan -- Colter Harrison Kinner.
