University of Wyoming Calendar for Week of Oct. 19-25

These are among the activities scheduled at the University of Wyoming during the week of Oct. 19-25.

Tuesday, Oct. 20-Saturday, Oct. 24, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 25, 2 p.m. -- The Department of Theatre and Dance continues its season with "Seagulls in a Cherry Tree" in the Fine Arts Studio Theater. Tickets cost $14 for the public, $11 for senior citizens and $7 for students. Tuesday, Oct. 20, 6 p.m. -- The College Democrats and College Republicans will debate national health care reform, followed by a question and answer session, Wyoming Union West Ballroom. Free.

Wednesday, Oct. 21, 4:30 p.m. -- A reception for photographer Kevin Connolly will be held in the main lobby of the Centennial Complex Gallery. Free.

Thursday, Oct. 22, 3 p.m. -- Photographer Kevin Connolly will give a public lecture in Room 306 of the Classroom Building. Free.

Friday, Oct. 23, 5 p.m. -- UW anthropologist Adam Henne will discuss "Technologies of Value" in Room 150 of the Anthropology Building. Free.

Friday, Oct. 23, 7:30 p.m. -- A cappella ensemble The King's Singers will perform as part of the UW Cultural Programs fall concert series in the Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $28 for the public and $24 for students and senior citizens. Saturday, Oct. 24, 11 a.m. -- Walk a Mile in Her Shoes will educate men about gender violence and raise money for the Albany County SAFE Project. After the speakers, the men will put on high heels and walk in women's shoes around Prexy's Pasture.

Saturday, Oct. 24, 1 p.m. -- James Surls, nationally known artist, will give an art talk on level 5 of William Robertson Coe Library. Free.

Saturday, Oct. 24, 6 p.m. -- The UW Art Museum will host its 17th annual benefit ball, "Gala 2009: A Highland Fling," in the Wyoming Union Yellowstone Ballroom. Tickets can be purchased by calling the UW Art Museum at (307) 766-3477.
