Wayde Preston acted in productions such as the 1992 film Captain America and made guest appearances on the television shows Maverick and Bonanza. He starred as "Christopher Colt" on the 1950s TV western Colt. He also appeared in a string of Italian "spaghetti westerns."

Other accomplishments include serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and being a pilot for TWA. He was also a park ranger at the Grand Teton National Park and was employed by local rodeos. He is now deceased after a battle with colon cancer in 1992.

Preston lived in Lovelock, Nevada.
