Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, native Mark Spragg grew up working on Wyoming's oldest dude ranch just east of Yellowstone National Park. His memoir, Where Rivers Change Direction, won the Mountains & Plains Book Award for nonfiction in 2000. His novel, An Unfinished Life, was made into a major motion picture starring Robert Redford and Jennifer Lopez in 2005. Spragg also wrote the screenplay.
