Smith was UW's first outdoor track-and-field NCAA champion.

A five-time All-American who set several UW records in track and field, Shauna Smith was the first individual outdoor track-and-field NCAA champion from the University of Wyoming, in 2005. She set the Mountain West Conference record for the 400-meter hurldes with a time of 54.32 seconds.

Smith also won the 60-meter hurdles at the 2004 Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships. She was the first hurdler in Cowgirl history to earn All-American honors.

Smith currently resides in San Diego, California, and competes for USA Track and Field. Read more about her.
