Hiring and Firing Seminar Set in Casper

Sept. 26, 2002 Information to protect employees and companies from wrongful discharge claims will be presented during a seminar Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 8 a.m. noon at the Community First National Bank SBDC Conference Room, 300 S. Wolcott St., Casper. Registration fee for the class is $35. Deadline for registration is Oct. 9.

Michael J. Sullivan of Sullivan's Employment Law Arbitration & Consulting will teach "Hiring and Firing: The Legal Environment for Personnel Issues." Sullivan, former Wyoming labor commissioner, will give "tips for employee performance evaluations, practical procedures for discharging or disciplining an employee, and post termination matters, such as letters of recommendation and employer inquiries."

Sullivan served as administrative hearing officer and judge, presiding over 1,800 cases. He was responsible for enforcement of wage and hour laws, OSHA, public works projects, prevailing wage, and equal employment opportunity issues.
