Nov. 26, 2002 -- The Noyes Scholarship for International Business Studies is now accepting applications from Wyoming high school seniors who will be honors students and who intend to minor in international business at the University of Wyoming next year. Eligibility is restricted to Wyoming residents who were born and raised in Wyoming.
A College of Business committee will select from among the highest qualified applicants who will also make a commitment to study a foreign language until fluent. UW has mailed applications and details to all Wyoming high schools. More information can be obtained from the Office of Student Financial Aid, P.O. Box 3335, Laramie WY 82071, phone (307) 766- 2117.
Then Congressman Dick Cheney presented the scholarship in January, 1983, on behalf of the donor. Sen. Alan Simpson presented the first full award on Nov. 9, 1984. Since then, more than 20 UW students have received about $20,000 in scholarships.
The early awards did not include freshmen, but growth in the endowment fund now permits high school seniors who will be incoming freshmen in fall 2003, in addition to sophomores and juniors, to compete for a partial scholarship award. Posted on Tuesday, November 26, 2002
