Islamic Awareness Week April 5-7 at UW |

April 3, 2006 -- Discussions and lectures are among activities planned for Islamic Awareness Week celebrated April 5-7 at the University of Wyoming.
A panel discussion, "Operation Iraqi Freedom," will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, in the College of Business auditorium. Panelists include Wyoming National Guard members who have served in Iraq; Francois Dickman, former U.S. ambassador to Kuwait; Garth Massey, professor in the UW Department of Sociology; and Sadrul Ula, professor in the UW Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
Immam Ammar Amonette, a prayer-leader at the Colorado Muslim Society Mosque in Denver, Colo., will discuss "Religions and Freedom of Speech: Recent Muhammad's Cartoon Debate," at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 6, in the College of Business auditorium.
Friday, April 7, the film "Crossing the Lines: Kashmir, Pakistan, India" will be shown at 5:30 p.m. in the Wyoming Union Senate Chambers.
