Carol Becker (pictured to the left in her office) has been chosen to receive the school's "Excellence in Advanced Nursing Practice" award based on her commitment to her role as psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) to clients in the Laramie area, and for sharing her expertise with the students in our graduate program. Carol has practiced at Peak Wellness Center in Laramie since 1998, and also has a private practice at Pathways in Laramie. Carol was one of the first PMHNP's in the state who generously gave her time in precepting and supervising clinical hours for our students. She also has been available for class lectures and discussion panels to educate students about the role of the PMHNP. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program honored Becker with this annual award during the fall PMHNP Willow Ceremony on campus.
