    My research program addresses vulnerability, chronicity, rurality, help-seeking, the organization and delivery of health care services, specifically focused on accessibility and acceptability of care, and outcomes of care. I have viewed care of vulnerable, chronically ill persons as a complex relationship between the person, their family and the health care system that is influenced by the help-seeking strategies that people employ and the geographic area in which they live.
