Discovery Days Nursing Tour 2012
UW Discovery Days:
Nursing Tour Bigger and Better -- Thanks to students, faculty and staff!
Changes to School of Nursing UW Discovery Days tour attraction
Since the University began promoting the tour to all of the Discovery Days attendees last year, attendance at the tours has increased exponentially. As a result, five tour guides and three faculty/staff have volunteered to show how our simulation areas enhance the school’s curriculum. The tour has been planned carefully and scripted so that five areas of the simulation center can be seen within the 40 minute time allotment for the tour (exam rooms & observation decks; skills lab; classroom and Sim Man 3G; obstetrics unit with simulation manikin Noelle and her baby Hal; and our new pediatric simulation unit with observation decks into Sim Man 3G’s new room). In addition to the tour, faculty member Holly Miller and the students perform an actual simulation experience in the classroom for all attendees. Pictured are the tour guides, faculty, and staff responsible for the successful Discovery Days event.
