SNA Elects New Officers for 2012
Pictured above are the newly-elected officers for the University of Wyoming Student Nurses Association (SNA). (l-r) Dani Johnson, president; Emily Bandel, Education Committee representative; Ashleigh Hopp, historian; Ashley Hord, vice-president; Emily Stewart, secretary; Megan Roland, treasurer.
The new slate of officers held their first SNA meeting January 18, 2012 and are bursting with great ideas for this upcoming year. Their most ambitious project is to create a website that will keep members involved and informed. From that site they hope also to connect with students and alumni in regards to fundraising, making it possible for all to order UW Nursing apparel online. Another goal this year is to raise money for students traveling to Honduras for the volunteer medical trip. “We have always done this in the past. Continuing to support students volunteering abroad is something that is very important to us,” says President Dani Johnson. “We have a lot of great ideas for reaching out to the community in events such as participating in the MS Walk, beading for breast cancer on Monday afternoons, and participating in Body Image Awareness week. We are striving to represent UW Student Nurses in the best way we can, and are all looking forward to a new year together!”
