Looking forward to 2014

2014 "Look Ahead" Calendar for Nursing!

Click in the link above or scroll down to see a calendar of some key events coming up for 2014 on the national, state, and school levels.

What else is the school looking forward to this year?

Two major items are on the 2014 school agenda:

  • CCNE Accrediting Review for the DNP Program

The first Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accrediting review for the Doctor of Nursing (DNP) program will take place March 26-28, 2014. CCNE requires that students be enrolled for one year before an accreditation visit can be scheduled. The first UW DNP students began their program in the fall of 2012, so the year is up! National accreditation of the school's nursing programs is very important. The school is proud that the BSN and MS programs have been nationally accredited by CCNE through 2020, and looks forward to having the DNP program nationally accredited as well.

As part of the accreditation process, CCNE has issued a Call for Public Comment. Written, signed comments must be received by February 24, 2014. Please click here for more instructions:  CCNE Call for Public Comment

  • New vision, mission, and values

In fall 2013 the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing faculty and staff hammered out a new vision, mission, and values. 2014 presents a new opportunity to implement these exciting thoughts and plans. Check them out by clicking here: New School Mission
