Hart inducted into AANP

Ann Marie Hart honored nationally

Ann Marie Hart, PhD, FNP-BC, FAANP, was inducted as a Fellow into the American Association of Nurse Practitioners on June 23, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas during the 2016 AANP National Conference.

Fellowship in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) is given to nurse practitioners (NPs) who have made outstanding contributions to and demonstrated commitment to advancing the NP role, particularly in the areas of practice, education, policy, and/or research. Although being selected as an FAANP is an honor, fellows also meet throughout the year and work on initiatives to help advance the NP profession. In addition to educating new NPs, Dr. Hart says she is also passionate about helping newly graduated NPs transition successfully into practice and deliberately engage in lifelong learning that will continue to inform and improve their practice.

"As an FAANP, I am excited to work with other fellows on measures to help newly graduated NPs. I am also looking forward to contributing to national conversations and projects that will advance NP practice and improve the nation's health."

Hart was among 88 nurse practitioners selected from across the country for this honor, the only NP from Wyoming.

Hart is currently the Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program at the University of Wyoming Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing.
