Shoefelt 2014 CHS Outstanding Staff Awardee

College of Health Sciences

The College of Health Sciences (CHS) recognized Debbie Shoefelt, nursing advisor and credentials analyst, for her innumerable contributions to both the school of nursing and the college. The following text was read about Shoefelt in presentation of the 2014 CHS Outstanding Staff Award (over five years of service) at the annual CHS awards ceremony this spring:

Shoefelt joined the School of Nursing in 1986 and has made innumerable contributions to both the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing and the College of Health Sciences. Her official title is Credentials Analyst/Academic Advisor. However, unofficially, Debbie is the "Go-To" person. She does about everything to support the FWWSON and especially the Basic BSN program.

Shoefelt's nominator states, "I simply don't know where to begin to explain how valuable she is to the FWWSON. I don't know what I would do without her! She simply knows everything and everyone. Even though she does well with everything, I would like to mention a couple of attributes. She is meticulous, thorough, and very attentive to details. She also works very hard, puts in a lot of hours, and does a lot behind the scenes."

Another faculty member states that Shoefelt "works tirelessly to keep all of us on track. Debbie works closely with new and experienced faculty to ensure the advising process works smoothly and that all students receive accurate advising information. Again, by working attentively with faculty, she ensures students receive accurate information concerning the admission process. She is deserving and long past due in receiving recognition for her hard work and dedication."
