-----------
I knew that getting involved with Aspire would be a great opportunity. I wanted to develop my leadership skills and become more involved in campus. I also was drawn to Aspire because I am passionate and excited about nursing, and Aspire provides me with experiences relating to my career. [Click on Emily's name above for more.]
Being accepted into the Basic BSN freshman admit program allowed me to attend social events that not only helped me to meet my fellow students, but also my future teachers. Meeting the staff and hearing about their involvement in the college really inspired me to find my place in the program. Upon hearing about Aspire, I was very interested in the opportunities it would offer. Not only am I given the tools I need to better myself, but I can improve the school and workplace environments in which I’m a part. [Click on Karina's name above for more.]
I believe that being a member of the Aspire program will help me in becoming a well-rounded nurse. Being a good nurse is about more than just knowledge, it is also about leadership and professionalism. The Aspire program gives its members a head start on these skills and provides them with unique opportunities that otherwise they may not have had. I was very excited to be selected to be a part of this program, and I look forward to the many opportunities I will have to learn and grow with my peers. [Click on Deborah's name above for more.]
I believe that leadership is a very important skill to possess, not only in the professional aspect but as well as in the everyday setting. When I saw the opportunity to be a part of this program, there was no doubt that this group was something I wanted to pursue. By being in the Aspire program, I am hoping to further develop as an academic and professional. Nothing drives me more than being the voice for the people and leading a group towards the path of success. Not only will I gain an amazing skill set, but I have the opportunity to build great friendships with the nursing students and gain connections with future employers.
