What drew you to nursing?

There are many things I am very passionate about in life, and one of them is my future as a nurse. I have always dreamed of working in a career where I could help and care for people in times of need. This desire along with my fascination of the human body has always made nursing very intriguing to me. But what really convinced me that nursing is the best career for me was watching my dad battle cancer. I watched him fight for his life as he went through many chemo treatments. Seeing how the nurses cared for him and could make him smile and laugh on some of the worst days of his life made me realize that I hoped to be able to do the same thing someday. My dream is to be a little bit of light for patients in their darkest days.

What drew you to UW?

I am so thankful that I get to call UW my home for four years. It is absolutely amazing! The main reason I was drawn here was for the nursing program. I had heard wonderful things about it, and then I discovered that my class would be the first class offered freshman admission. The opportunity to be a freshman admit is priceless, and I knew I could not pass it up! I also fell in love with the campus and the amazing community-feel at UW. It truly is an extraordinary school, and I am so happy I get to experience three more years here!

What drew you to Aspire?

From the first time I heard about the Aspire program, I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of! Coming into college, I hoped to get involved and invested right away, but I wanted to make sure that I was investing myself in activities that were truly beneficial and important to me. Aspire is something that I immediately knew was worth the investment. I love that Aspire gives me the opportunity to lead, to serve, and to grow in so many areas. I can’t wait to watch all that happens through Aspire and am so thankful for this opportunity.
