I have known since middle school that I wanted to be involved in a health-care profession. I grew up around my grandmother, who was a nurse for thirty years, and watched the amount of compassion and love that she had for helping others. Due to my grandmother, I knew that I wanted to do something similar to what she did, and live in her legacy of helping people in their times of need.
I know that UW has an amazing nursing program. As I toured the campus, I fell in love and knew it would be my new home. The University of Wyoming has some of the greatest and nicest people; I could not have asked to become part of a better community!
I applied for Aspire because I wanted to become a leader in the nursing community. I was excited to meet the wonderful and inspiring people that the Aspire program could introduce me to. I was ready for a challenge within my major, and I am excited to see what the next few years have in store for me!

AfterOurs Urgent Care:
This internship allowed for me to shadow the providers at an Urgent Care near my house.
While there, I took patient’s vitals and drew medications before procedures. Due to
this amazing opportunity, I was able to learn so much in a short amount of time!
After college, I would love to go and work in a third-world country. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to become a part of Doctor’s Without Borders and join them in helping people all over the world.
