My mom and grandmother were nurses, so I have been exposed to nursing my whole life. I just love the idea of helping others. I also want to travel, and nursing is a profession that can be universal.
Both my parents attended the University of Wyoming, and I have been up for basketball and football games my whole life. I fell in love with Laramie and the University at a very young age. I knew I wanted to come here.
I have always pursued leadership. It all started when I went on a National Outdoor Leadership School program the summer of 2010. I then continued to learn more about leadership and thought Aspire would be a great way to combine my love of nursing and leadership.

I have shadowed my mom in the NICU and Pediatric floors at her hospital for many years. I also had an internship with the STAR center in Littleton, Colorado. Specifically, I worked within their feeding clinic alongside Dr. Kay Tomey and several Speech Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists.
I want to travel right out of college and work as a travel nurse or volunteer my time as a nurse overseas in places of need. I want to get my Nurse Practitioner, then work in a PICU somewhere in Colorado or Wyoming. I love the west. I plan to stay here and raise a family.
