From a young age I’ve wanted to pursue a career in the medical field; but upon entering high school, the work of nurses really intrigued me. I was very inspired by their true ability to change people’s lives physically and emotionally through the work that they do. Nurses are such an important component in the healthcare industry, and I felt that nursing would be a very meaningful career to pursue.
Although I didn’t originally expect to go to Wyoming, I am so thankful that God led me on the path in deciding to attend school here. I knew immediately when I stepped on campus that this was the right school for me. I absolutely loved the tight-knit feel of Laramie and the radiating warmth of the UW community. The beautiful campus, impressive nursing program, and the pride that students and faculty took in the University especially drew me to the college.
Leadership is a critical skill to have in order to be successful in the nursing profession, and I thought that Aspire would be a wonderful opportunity for me to strengthen that skill. Aspire will also give me the opportunity to connect with nursing students in different years of the program as well as get to build a personal connection with professors and potential employers. I am very excited to be involved in this program and develop skills that will benefit my future pursuits as a nurse!
