  • Room and Board: varies depending on university or off-campus housing

  • Textbooks during Pre-Nursing/Pre-Clinical Component of Program: varies depending on courses

Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing Fees/Expenses

  • Nursing Course Fees

    • Current Students in the Nursing Major

      • Nursing 3875 - Program Assessment, travel fee and lab fee: $516 (Spring 2017)

      • Nursing 4475 - Program Assessment fee, travel fee: $281 (Fall 2016)

    • Freshman/Non-Freshman Admissions (effective Fall 2016)

      • There will be fees associated with nursing courses taken in the Clinical Component of the program: To Be Determined

  • Expenses - Applying to the Nursing Major Component of the Program

    • Current Students in the Nursing Major

      • CNA Certification: varies depending on where students take their course, and through which state(s) seeking certification ($500+)

      • Nursing Transcript Evaluation Fee (i.e., application fee): $28

    • Freshman/Non-Freshman Admissions (effective Fall 2016)

      • Non-Freshman Admissions - Nursing Transcript Evaluation Fee (i.e., application fee): $28

  • Expenses - Admitted (once accepted to the Nursing Major/Clinical Component of the Program)

    • Criminal Background Check: $42.50 [some sites require a repeat background check by the time students are ready to go into their senior clinical semester]

    • CPR certification (varies depending on where students take their CPR course)

    • Health Records (Immunizations/Screenings): (varies depending on healthcare provider/agency)

    • Malpractice Insurance: $13 (assessed by the University in association with specific nursing courses)

    • Travel/Relocation for clinical experiences: varies

    • Drug screening is required by some clinical training sites: $25-75 each

    • Nursing Nametag through UW WyoOne ID Office: $8

    • Uniforms/Shoes: (varies depending upon what is ordered)

    • Stethoscope, Equipment: $40-320 (varies depending on quality of stethoscope)

    • Nursing Textbooks: Nursing courses require numerous textbooks. Plan on paying a substantial amount (could range around $2,000 spread throughout the Nursing Major/Clinical Component of the Program). Textbooks are used throughout the program.

  • To do at end of program

    • Graduation Fee: $25

    • Regalia (Cap/Gown) and Graduation Announcements: $65+

    • School of Nursing Pin (optional): $30-445 - Price varies depending on quality (gold plated, 1/10 gold filled, and 10 K solid gold) and whether or not purchasing pin only or pin and BSN bar (guard)

  • To do after graduation

    • NCLEX review course before taking exam (optional): $200-250

    • Licensure by Examination Application Fee, Wyoming State Board of Nursing: $190-195 (fee may differ for other states)

    • NCLEX Examination Fee: $200
