A lack of financial resources can be a major barrier to post-secondary education for ethnic minority and first generation college bound students.  Obtaining assistance requires careful planning, preparation and perseverance.

UW Minority Scholarship

Multicultural Alumni Chapter Scholarship 

Funding is for eight consecutive semesters, ($6,000 total over four years) provided the recipient maintains a 2.0 cumulative grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours each semester.

Applicants Must:

• be a spring high school graduate with a GPA of 2.5 or higher

• be a member of one of these ethnic groups in the United States: American Indian/Alaska Native;

  Asian American/Pacific Islander; Black/African American; or Hispanic/Mexican American/Latino/Chicano

• have UW admission application on file

Winifred Snyder Yaap Memorial Scholarship for Native Americans

Multicultural Affairs Graduate Program

Graduate Student Financial Assistance 

Nontraditional Student Center Scholarship

• Specifically for students who are 25 years or older and who have completed at least six (6) UW credit hours in the Fall semester.
• Applications are available in the Nontraditional Student Center Office in the Wyoming Union, Room 104, beginning in mid September and are due in mid November.
