MASTER DEGREES

Education: Curriculum and Instruction
This program is for classroom teachers who are interested and committed to sharpening their professional craft. Included are courses in curriculum, instruction, assessment, multicultural education, and educational research.

Education: Educational Administration-Adult and Post-Secondary Ed
This program prepares graduates for entry level leadership positions in adult education, postsecondary education, and related non-profit and for-profit organizations.

Education: Educational Administration-Educational Leadership
The Principal Preparation Program is a comprehensive intern- ship-based leadership program leading to a Master of Arts degree in Education with an option in Educational Administration and a cognate in K-12 Educational Leadership as well as potential Wyoming  certification as a K-12 principal.

Education: Special Education
The Master's in Education, with an option in Special Education prepares graduates for K-12 teaching positions to serve students with special needs. This program will benefit teachers seeking competence in instructional and positive behavioral strategies for students with learning/behavioral needs. Upon completion of this program, students will be eligible to apply to the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board for endorsement in K-12 Special Education.

Education: Online Instructional Technology
Students can take all of their coursework online with the exception of a campus visit for their final defense in the Capstone course. This degree program in instructional technology gives students the foundations to design, develop, implement, and evaluate instructional resources and systems in professional learning environments.

English
The Outreach MA in English program provides an opportunity for Wyoming residents who are not able to live in Laramie full-time to receive an MA degree through a combination of summer classes and online classes throughout the regular school year. The degree proceeds more slowly than the on-campus MA so that students can continue with their regular employment and professional obligations while completing the program.

Online MBA
The Online MBA Program  is specifically designed for experienced business professionals interested in an AACSB accredited, 100% online program that fits their busy schedules. This two-year program is for professionals interested in enhancing their understanding of business disciplines and applying them to making decisions. Beginning each fall, the cohort-based Online MBA program consists of 30 credit hours of coursework.

Family & Consumer Sciences: Human Development & Family Sciences
The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences offers a program of study leading to a Master of Science degree. The majority of accepted students’ coursework will be in their designated discipline and related areas. All master’s degree options require a minimum of 30 credit hours of coursework. Each student’s appointed committee will assist in formulating a plan of study within these program requirements. The objective of our graduate programs is to prepare students to be competent in the content studied; be competent in oral and written communications; be and independent and reflective learner; and integrate theory, research, and practice.

Kinesiology and Health
The M.S. in Kinesiology and Health is offered off-campus to distance students as a Plan B (non-thesis) option. The area of emphasis for the distance program is physical education teacher education.

Nursing: Online Nurse Educator
The University of Wyoming offers an online Master of Science program for nurses who wish to become nurse educators. This 36-hour online program requires one visit to campus for an initial fall orientation.

Speech-Language Pathology (This program is currently undergoing a redesign.)
The University of Wyoming Division of Communication Disorders has offered a distance master of science (MS) degree in speech-language pathology since January, 1988. The current distance program is a synchronous model that is offered through a combination of distance learning technology and on-campus courses/practicum.

Health Services Administration

The online Master of Science degree in Health Services Administration targets new and mid-career pharmacists and other healthcare professionals who want to become department directors, patient safety coordinators and/or directors, regulatory compliance officers, clinical research associates, health outcomes researchers or advance practice pharmacists. The program also benefits health care workers in fields such as management positions, pharmaceutical sales representatives, medical science liaisons and pharmacy technician educators as well as new clinical faculty at newly established pharmacy colleges. The program can be completed in two years of part-time study. Students must travel to the UW Laramie campus for two weekend seminars during the two-year program. Graduates will be expected to complete 30 credit hours of coursework and a comprehensive final exam. Coursework will be completed over five consecutive semesters. A prospective student should have earned at least a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
