What is Semester-Based Independent Learning (SBIL)?

• UW independent learning courses that you complete within the fall or spring semester.
• Courses that require students to work independently according to a schedule agreed upon between the student and instructor.

What do I need to know about Semester-Based Independent Learning (SBIL)?

• Registration information is available by calling UW Outreach Credit Programs, (800) 448-7801.
• SBIL courses are eligible for financial aid.
• Go to the UW Bookstore website, uwyobookstore.com to purchase your textbook(s).
• A learning contract is required to assure your consistant progress throughout the course.
• Fall 2013 courses begin Monday, August 26, 2013.
• Last day to drop for Fall 2013 is Thursday, September 5, 2013.
• Last day to register for Fall 2013 is Monday, September 9, 2013.
• Last day to withdraw from individual courses for Fall 2013 is Friday, November 1, 2013.
• Last day of class is Friday, December 6, 2013.
