The University of Wyoming’s Outreach School, in partnership with the academic colleges and departments, is pleased to offer Professional Development credit for outside agencies (school districts, foundations and other non-governmental agencies) who wish to provide training for their employees. These courses can be taken for undergraduate and/or graduate UW credits that are not transferable into a UW degree program. These courses are numbered “4740”, “4074” or “5959”. The “5959” courses are graduate credits and are used primarily by practicing teachers who already have a bachelor’s degree. Courses numbered “4740” and “4074” are undergraduate credits and are often used by paraprofessionals and other individuals who do not have a bachelor’s degree.
Courses are offered and approved by the appropriate academic department. Outside agencies are responsible for all instructional costs. The University will charge students a registration fee of $50 per credit hour.
The Outreach School must follow a rigorous course approval process that assures that academic authorities are consulted in these collaborations with outside agencies. Requests must be submitted 45 days prior to the start of class.
