NEW BUILDING CONSTRUCTION UNDER WAY
The University of Wyoming/Casper College (UW/CC) Center opened in June of 1976. Over its 36 years of history, the UW/CC Center has grown from 60 students and delivering 3 degree programs to 350 students and delivering 17 undergraduate and 13 graduate degree programs. Yet through those three and a half decades, it has generally had to make do with what space was available. At this point, the UW/CC Center has a nice facility on North Poplar and access to a range of classrooms and offices spread across the Casper College (CC) campus. Yet expecting students to commute across Casper between campuses is an ongoing problem. Trying to find space on the Casper College campus for new faculty and programs is also difficult, largely because our great partners at CC are experiencing growing enrollments and creating new programs as well.
The building that UW and CC are constructing together is greatly needed and will benefit central Wyoming for decades. Our colleagues at CC are excited about it. But we’re even more excited. While a new $32 million, 95,000 square foot building will reshape the CC campus, it redefines the UW/CC Center. This is the defining event that marks the end of a chapter in UW/CC’s history and opens one marked by even greater opportunity for the students and community we serve. The UW/CC Center will be in the building for decades; it will be the place in which we add new faculty, deliver new programs, and serve the next several generations of students. Please look through the links about this project. We think you’ll see just why we are thrilled to be embarking on this new venture.
- Brent Pickett, Associate Dean and Director of the UW/CC Center
