Student Development Fund

Gifts to the Student Development Fund are used to provide support to students in numerous ways:

    • The School of Pharmacy gives out a variety of scholarships funded through gifts and endowments.

    • In addition to general scholarships, areas of need include P4 Scholarships (to help them cover the additional expenses of short-term housing near their rotations sites), and

    • P1 Recruitment Scholarships (to attract and retain the best and the brightest students)

Student Development

    • By our 75th Anniversary, we would like to be sending 75% of our students to state, regional and/or national meetings. This helps expand our students perspective on practice opportunities, allows them to network with pharmacist and students from across the region and county, and helps them appreciate the value of their education.

    • Development funds help offset the costs of having students participate in leadership development programs such as the Leadership Academy, a program that UW is conducting in partnership with Phi Lambda Sigma, the national pharmacy leadership society

Service Projects

Our student professional organizations conduct health screening and service projects throughout Albany County and beyond. These health fairs and screening programs require equipment and supplies that can be covered by the student development fund.

The School of Pharmacy is grateful to the many generous donors who support our program!
