Class of 2012 Commencement and Future Plans

The School of Pharmacy class of 2012 received their Doctorate of Pharmacy degrees during the UW College of Health Sciences commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 5. Below, the 51 graduates gathered for a group photo prior to the ceremonies.

Class of 2012 Future Plans

Many graduates shared their future plans which include residencies, hospital, retail, community pharmacy and spending time with family:

Patrick Baldwin, Pharmacist-in-Charge, Rawhide Drug, Lusk, Wyoming.

Stephanie Bassett, I plan to begin working at Walgreens in the Loveland-Greeley area starting in June.

Bret Barnes, PGY1 Resident, Providence St. Mary Medical Center, Walla Walla, Washington.  Continue my career as an Ambulatory Care pharmacist upon completion of my residency.

Bree Bertz, Spending time with my husband and Isabella as well as preparing for the arrival of our new baby girl who is to arrive this summer.  We will enjoy the summer camping, fishing, hanging out with family before settling back down in the fall.

Amy Borcher, Pharmacy Manager, Box Butte General Hospital, Alliance, Nebraska.

James Cordonier, I plan to return to Wyoming and seek a clinical position.

Michael Crookston, Not sure.

Calvin Culver, Float Pharmacist, Albertsons/Osco, Cheyenne, Wyoming.  I am excited to contribute towards pharmacy practice at Osco pharmacy.

Shawn Dalton, PGY1 Pharmacy Resident, VA Black Hills Health Care System, Hot Springs, South Dakota.

Angela Denke, Staff Pharmacist, Kmart, Riverton, Wyoming.  I may also work part-time at Riverton Memorial Hospital.

Kara Ferguson, PGY1 Pharmacy Resident, University of Arkansas Medical Sciences, Little Rock, Arkansas.  Upon completing a PGY1, I plan to pursue a PGY2 in infectious disease.

Judson Gilbert, Pharmacy Manager, Safeway 469 Cole Center, Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Daniel Hagerman, Plan on working in a local pharmacy.

Mark Harmon, Resident, Walgreens and Midwestern University, Phoenix, Arizona.

Mikala Henzlik, undecided at this time.

Myles Holt, Live and work in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Jessica Hopper, PGY1 Ambulatory Care Resident, Veterans Affairs, Pocatello Idaho.

Joshua Jons, My future plans are to obtain a pharmacist position at a hospital in Texas.

Christine Keldsen, Pharmacist, Walmart, Linton, Indiana.

Kara Kent, Pharmacy Resident, New Ulm Medical Center, New Ulm, Minnesota (ambulatory care focus).

Betsy Kidd, Pharmacist, Walgreens - Seattle South District, Silverdale, Washington.

Sean LeBaron, After graduation I plan to retire.

Sara Lookabill, PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Resident, Detroit Receiving Hospital, part of Detroit Medical Center, Detroit, Michigan.

Leena Myran, PGY1 Resident, Billings Clinic, Billings, Montana.

Thanh-Nga Nguyen, PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident, Oklahoma City VA Medical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Cory Officer, Undecided.

Mary Palmquist, PGY1 Pharmacy Resident, VA Medical Center, Portland, Oregon.

Sarah Pence, Moving with my husband to Vernal, Utah and having a baby in August.

Joseph Poling, Staff Pharmacist, Good Day Pharmacy - Northern Colorado.

Jackson Quick, I would like to work as a pharmacist in Cheyenne or Northern Colorado.

William Rowden, I plan on working in a retail pharmacy in a rural community.

Sarah Ruppert, Live and work in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Mikal Rutten, PGY-1 Critical Care Pharmacy Practice Resident, Regions Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota.

Jenna Sloan, PGYI Pharmacy Resident, University of Wyoming Family Medicine Residency Program, Casper, Wyoming (focus in ambulatory care).

Morganne Smyth, PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Resident, St. Luke's Medical Center, Boise, Idaho.

Amanda Steel, Staff Pharmacist, Maniilaq Health Center/Indian Health Services, Kotzebue, Alaska.

Susan Taylor, Pharmacist, Memorial Hospital at Converse County, Douglas, Wyoming.  Spend some time kayaking and white water rafting, hopefully floating the Grand Canyon soon.

Jared Underdahl, PGY-1 Pharmacy Resident, Exempla Lutheran Medical Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Aaron Van Den Berg, Floater Pharmacist, Lewis Family Drug, Rock Valley, Iowa. I will be working as a full time floater pharmacist for Lewis Family Drug covering their 7 stores in Northwest Iowa, until the pharmacist in my hometown retires, at which time I will assume the role as pharmacist in charge.

Jeremy Wagner, Floater Pharmacist, Walgreens, Gillette, Wyoming. I plan to move close to the family ranch and work.

Jonathan Will, Clinical Pharmacist, Cheyenne Regional Medical Center, Cheyenne, Wyoming.
