Christy Weiland and Michelle Hilaire Article Published in American Family Physician

Michelle L. Hilaire, Pharm.D., CDE, BCPSChristy Weiland, Pharm.D., BCPS, former clinical assistant professor of pharmacy practice, and Michelle Hilaire, Pharm.D., CDE, BCPS, clinical associate professor of pharmacy practice, recently had an article published in American Family Physician, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

The article was part of the STEPS series. The STEPS new drug reviews cover Safety, Tolerability, Effectiveness, Price, and Simplicity of new medications brought to market. Their article was titled "Bromocriptine Mesylate (Cycloset) for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus." Bromocriptine traditionally had been used for parkinson’s disease or hyperprolactinemia, but was recently FDA approved for treating type 2 diabetes mellitus.
