Yinan Hua Receives 2013 AAiPS Research Award
Yinan Hua, M.D., M.S., a graduate student in the University of Wyoming Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. program, is the recipient of a 2013 American Association of Indian Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAiPS) Research Award for her research titled, “Cathepsin K knockout alleviates aging-induced cardiac dysfunction by blocking caspase-independent apoptosis.”
Hua's award was announced at the AAiPS Annual Gala Dinner at the AAPS Annual meeting November 13, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas. She will receive a certificate and $500 from AAiPS. The mission of AAiPS is to provide a forum for discussion, continuing education, and the exchange of ideas on advances in pharmaceutical science and technology.
Hua's advisor is Sreejayan Nair, Ph.D., associate professor of pharmacology and director of the UW Biomedical Sciences Ph.D. program.
