Religious Studies 1000.01

Introduction to Religion

Instructor: Catherine Hartmann
Delivery Method: Traditional In-Person
Times: MWF 11:00a - 11:50a

In this class, we will travel across the globe for an exploration of some of the world's major religious traditions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Confucianism, Shinto, Daoism, and Christianity. We take a historical, academic approach in aiming to learn about these religions, rather than aiming at religious practice or conversion. We will learn how people in these communities think about reality, the origins of human problems, and how to overcome these problems to live a good life.
