Outcomes for Survivors of Pediatric Cancer: A caregiver survey with optional interview

The purpose of this research is to investigate the caregiver perspective of speech-language pathology services within pediatric oncology. We are hoping to enhance the understanding of how speech-language pathologists can support children with cancer and their caregivers.

If you decide to take part in this study, we will ask you to complete an electronic survey describing your experiences, perspective, and feedback regarding speech-language pathology services during your child’s oncologic treatment. You will also be asked to list any concerns you have regarding your child’s speech, language, communication, cognition, swallowing, and/or hearing. This is all done in an effort to enhance understanding of speech-language pathology services.

At the end of the survey you may voluntarily identify your willingness to participate in an additional interview with research personnel. If you express such an interest, you will be asked to list your contact information so you may be contacted to arrange the interview. These interviews will take place over the phone or video and will be recorded for data collection purposes. More specific information pertaining to the timing of services and the caregiver perspective will be gathered during the interview. Your contact information will be removed from the initial electronic survey within one week of completion.
