Specialty Crops

Dr. Valtcho Jeliazkov, Associate Professor and Director of the Sheridan R&E Center, is involved with research including:  Specialty crops, medicinal and aromatic plants, plant secondary metabolites; Oilseeds, biofuel crops, and forages; Reclamation, remediation, and native plants; Various aspects of soil/plant relationships and nutrient management of horticultural and agronomic crops; Development of environmentally benign cropping systems, improving economic and environmental sustainability of crop production; Evaluation of ‘waste materials’ as soil amendments, benefits and potential environmental hazards; and Electron microscopy and X-ray microanalyses.
