Political Science Club @ UW

The UWYO Political Science Club is an outlet for which all students can come and learn and form their own opinions. We believe that a knowledgeable, active citizenry contributes to a calmer, non-divisive climate. We offer a neutral, bipartisan environment to debate and discuss politics at any level, exploring international, American, state, county, city, or even university politics.

We are also determined to cultivate more interest about politics in our community by organizing public events. In Fall of 2022, we took a step towards ensuring we stick to our mission by hosting the recent Albany County Clerks and Sheriffs debates. On Election Day '22, we organized a community watch-party to share in the experience of the democratic process. We hope to hold more successful events like this in the future, so as to get you to interact with us and have a better idea about how politics affects them in their daily lives.

You don’t have to be a Political Science major to join.

Discussions can range from topics concerning current events, certain policies, or even gaining a better understanding about concepts concerning political thought.

We are interested in incentivizing people to share their values when debating on political issues; we welcome people of diverse political opinions and beliefs to feel comfortable in the UWYO Political Science Club. We believe that all students can learn how to potentially consider alternative perspectives. The UWYO Political Science Club prides itself in preserving a non-judgemental, respectful, and neutral environment for political discussion.

We can guarantee students that the UWYO Political Science Club will commit to ensuring a neutral environment. We are our own registered student organization, independent from any other political-based club on campus. As such, we do not exist to advocate on the behalf of said other clubs. In addition, we must note that we are not backed or supported by any partisan affiliation whatsoever. If you are interested in attending a meeting or even joining, feel free to check out our student page on the Cowbell site, where you can stay updated on our current schedule.
