International Opportunities

Univ. of Wyo. Study Abroad

A few weeks or a year.  Whatever fits your schedule and goals.

There are also many private (for profit and non-profit) groups that offer study abroad or mission trips. Be VERY CAREFUL when selecting a private group since there are some that are utterly unscrupulous and put you and your potential patients at risk (or cost way too much money). Below are several that we personally know are reputable.

During or after your undergraduate education:

Child Family Health International

International Service Learning

Unite for Sight

Not just vision.

Atlantis Project

Honduras Experience

And after graduation, you might consider:

Peace Corps

For guidelines on volunteering in health care abroad please click here. Note that while these are put out by the American Dental Association, most professional accrediting agencies have similar guidelines and they were modeled after these. These guidelines work for all fields.
