Outstanding UW Faculty
University of Wyoming professors are deeply invested in each
student's educational journey. The proof is in the numbers.
According to the latest UW Student Opinion Survey (UWSOS),
UW students overwhelmingly agreed that they are happy with their educational
experience and believe they are growing intellectually -- two prime indicators
that UW faculty members are meeting students' expectations and delivering
first-rate instruction.
Professors at UW are more than educators. They are mentors
who make themselves accessible to work with students beyond the classroom and
who care about their students' growth from the first day of classes until
graduation. Many UW faculty members and students share friendships that remain
after graduation.
In the 2011 UWSOS, one of three student surveys conducted on
a biennial basis since 1994 and composed of questions developed largely by
Student Affairs and Academic Affairs, 96 percent of UW students agreed they
were happy with their educational experience and 85 percent said they were
growing intellectually.
In addition, 85 percent of students indicated that nearly
all of faculty is knowledgeable in its field and 82 percent said that instruction
in their major is excellent. Both rankings are significantly more positive than
the national average.
At UW, the faculty makes the difference!
