I grew up in the Chicago area and right out of high school went to an art school in Chicago before moving to Laramie. I originally moved to Laramie for the size of community, the outdoor opportunities, and the Kinesiology and Outdoor Program the university has.
I am studying Kinesiology and Health Promotion here at UW. Although UW is smaller than a lot of schools the quality of the staff at UW is exceptional.
The amount of participation at a national and international level is awe-inspiring. On a regular basis I hear NPR and WPR speaking with someone from Laramie who’s been doing researching in their field, writing books, or their works are being published in academic journals.
Wyoming is the Equality State for a reason. The students that attend UW are from many different walks of life, but really come together to form a tight knit community.
Alumni that I have met in my travels outside of Laramie have always shared fond memories and miss the strong sense of community that we have here in Laramie.
