"I graduated in 1996 with my associate's degree from Eastern
Wyoming College here in Torrington. At the time I had three kids, and I didn't
think I'd need any other education. But when you've been with an employer so
long, you start to realize that in order to be promoted or to move up, you need
to have a degree.
When I looked at going back to school, I knew I couldn't move or travel to campus in Laramie, so it made sense for me to do my degree online at home. I had been out of school for 15 years, and I was really scared to go back at first. I was scared of the technology; I was scared of being a lot older than the other students. But with the classes I've taken, I've found there are a lot of older students, and it's been comfortable and convenient for me.
I probably couldn't have completed my degree if it weren't online. You do the same amount of work as you would in class, but you get to do it when you have time. I believe this degree will help me become successful and help me get a job that I want to do. It will help me get a career, and not just have odd-end jobs."
